Liverpool Trojans Baseball Club Est.1946
"In the beginning of British Baseball, God created the Trojans, and all was good. Over the years and many championships God decided the Trojans needed to grow, so a second Trojan team was created and all was good. Then there was confusion, as there was only one team, yet in different ballparks at the same time, so the name Twojans was born. This in turn confused the Twojans, not knowing what to call their team mates and their style of play. Seeing their style of play and behaviour on the field, the Twojans started saying Onejan behaviour, and the name was born. The rest was history: No matter how many teams grew in the Trojan Baseball club, were to be only Trojans....Onejans, Twojans and all"
- The Book of Trojans (Genesis 1.1)
The second game started off positive at the top of the first inning, after the leadoff batter grounded out, James Hobson drew a walk. Tom Wrightson then follow up with a single, with Hobson going first to third. Then Chris Pittard came up and singled in Hobson, with Wrightson moving to third. Tommy Orton then grounded out but did his job in bringing in Wrightson to give the Twojans another run, with Pittard able to get all the way to third on the play. Jeff Ocenasek then came up and came close to hitting it out, but the leftfielder grabbed it by the fence with Pittard tagging up and coming in for the third run on the board. That was all the Twojans plated for the inning
The bottom half saw the Twojans send Liam Harris to the mound to start the game. Harris started out by hitting the first two batters, then a fly ball to left field that was dropped then brought in two runs. The following batter walked and then yet another error in the field brought in another run. Harris had to battle, as he should have had two outs and had none at this point. However, the Twojan fielders could not back up their pitcher and after a single then game up back to back errors. The error filled inning proved very costly for the Twojans and the Spartans ended up scoring 7 runs in the inning, with the frame closing out 7-3 with the Spartans ahead.
Unfortunately the game went downhill from there, as the Twojans were unable to score any runs at the top of the second, and the bottom of the second proved to be another long inning for the Twojans as the Spartans once again added a lot of runs. After the second inning and the Twojans behind by a large margin, Pittard would come into the game in relief to try to keep the Twojans in it for a comeback. Despite the Twojans being able to add another six more runs in the game the damage from the first two innings proved unsurmountable and the Twojans would lose 19-9.
Liam Harris took the loss (0-2), with Pittard on in relief. Offensive standouts were James Hobson went 2-2 with 2 doubles, and a RBI, and 3 stolen bases and Jeff Ocenasek who went 2-2, with 2 walks and a RBI.
